Blackminton

At Blackminton events, ultraviolet light and florescent lines transform the playing fields into a magical setting. You combine three special black-light-active Easy Court to create a Star Court. Three pairs of players play simultaneously over the black-light pyramid in the center of the court. The translucent Night Speeders and green Speedlights glow intensely from the black light.

Blackminton can also be played on indoor tennis courts. You simply lay down the florescent Easy Courts along the lines of the tennis court and place the black light in the center of the court. Of course, the lights in the tennis center have to be dimmed.

White or florescent clothing makes the players glow in the dark - while florescent body paint gives the event a special touch. Can be combined with driving music to create a fascinating sporting event.

StarCourt for Blackminton EventsA StarCourt consists of 6 square playing fields 5,5m/18 ft on each side. The total diameter of the StarCourt is around 24m/80 ft (+ 2m/6 ft safety). The setup is easiest with a measuring tape and an angle template with 60° angles drawn on it, which you can use to perfectly align the playing fields.

The setup is easier than it sounds:

Define the center of each StarCourt such that an area with around a 26m/87 ft diameter is free of obstacles.
Affix the angle template (shown in black) in the middle of the court area and fasten an additional anchor peg elsewhere to keep it from rotating.
With the measuring tape, measure 7m/23 ft from the center anchor peg, following a line from the angle template, to determine the right corner of the baseline of the first playing field. Affix it with an anchor peg or anchor plate.
With the measuring tape using it like a circle measure again 7m/21ft from the center to determine the left corner of the playing field baseline and fix it there. Caution: Ignore the lines on the angle template when determining the left corner; they are only for determining the right corners of the playing fields!
You can now easily stake out the other two corners of the field to complete it.
In the same way, always following the 60° angles, measure the center points and front corner positions of the five remaining playing fields.
You can now easily complete and align the squares. If you plan to install a black light pyramid in the center of the StarCourt, make sure you do not "lose" the court center point when you remove the angle template.
